Facebook mentions that these buttons have been tested on a wide scale before going live, so the company has done its due diligence. Testing is usually conducted across a wide spectrum of people, ranging from a variety of countries, in order to get a better understanding of what the global audiences want.
Since they have been tested in the wild, you might have seen these new buttons in the past before. The commercial rollout of these new icons might take some time depending on your location. But since this is a global update, users should expect to see it on their mobile apps fairly soon.
This is one of the major updates that Facebook’s mobile version has seen. It was warranted as the original ‘Like’ button was designed for the desktop version and since mobile is widely preferred by Facebook users, it made sense for the company to give these buttons a new look.
Facebook has also introduced two new Chrome extensions for saving links and sharing them on your timeline or on private message. These extensions are available for download on Google Chrome right away.
